10 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1. How does wind affect
Leaf Relief?
The surface of the product is flat, has a
smooth finish and is vented both from the bottom and the top.
Exposed to the sun, the debris on its surface quickly dries up and
becomes lighter. Wind easily clears the dry leaves, a six mph
wind clears the wet leaves and an average 100 pine needles per one foot
length and a 23 mph wind clears an average one inch thick of pine
needles per one foot length.
2. I have had my gutter
system for a long time. Will Leaf Relief still fit my gutters?
Yes, most likely. Leaf Relief is designed to
fit virtually every type of gutter system.
3. How much rain can Leaf
Relief handle?
Leaf Relief has been measured as able to
handle at an amazing 32.9" of rain per hour. This value is
triple the official rainfall world record (Kilauea, Hawaii at 12" per
hour).
4. Will leaf relief rust?
No. Leaf Relief is made of aluminum and will
never rust.
5. My neighbor's rain
removal system is very noticeable and unsightly when looking at
it. Is Leaf Relief the same way?
No. Leaf Relief is virtually
invisible from the ground.
6. Will leaves and debris
stick to Leaf Relief?
Not in most cases. Leaf Relief is
finished with smooth enamel which allows removal of leaves and other
debris by wind speeds that are very common here in our area.
7. How can I be assured
that Leaf Relief will last?
Leaf Relief has been tested in accredited
labs and has been in service in Canada (under severe weather
conditions) for nearly ten years.
8. Is there a leaf relief
warranty?
Leaf Relief is backed by our "Never Clogs,
Never Overflows" 10 year warranty.
9. Can Leaf Relief
withstand heavy water flow?
Even when 100% of the holes are blocked, the
system still can take nearly twice as much water as the heaviest
recorded rainstorm. The reason is that wet leaves are
"sweating" which means some water still goes through the leaves and
then down the holes. The water always finds its way through
the holes, plus it has about one quarter of an inch of
"guard" in case the water level would rise further before it finds its
way through.
10. How does Leaf Relief
handle snow?
The Leaf Relief system does not create a
heat source that turns the snow into ice. It does not require
that the roof shingle be lifted to be installed and therefore does not
become a potential source of water infiltration. It lowers
the weight of the snow sitting in the eaves trough during
winter. It allows the water to flow to the downspout without
debris as soon as a few little holes open up when snow melts (as
opposed to having a slushy mix of ice, snow and debris until the water
literally evaporates because it can't run to the downspout).
